Today I would like to share two more of my published projects. This first one is a travel journal cover, which got published in PaperCrafts September/October 2012 issue. Stamps are from myStamp BOX’ Road Trip set. * Vandaag wil ik jullie graag weer enkele gepubliceerde projecten tonen. Deze eerste is de cover van een reisdagboek, dat gepubliceerd werd in PaperCrafts September/October 2012 nummer. Stempels zijn van myStamp BOX’s Road Trip set.

And this next card was published in PaperCrafts’ Holiday Cards & More, vol. 7. A very simple and easy holiday card, featuring some My Mind’s Eye papers and Papertrey Ink stamps. * En deze volgende kaar werd gepubliceerd in PaperCrafts’ Holiday Cards & More, vol. 7. Een heel eenvoudige kerstkaart met My Mind’s Eye papier en Papertrey Ink stempels.

 

So, that’s it for today. We had little Maura coming over today, and she will be back tomorrow and the day after as well. So it’s busy, busy, busy around here. Love that! * Dit is het voor vandaag. We hadden kleine Maura op bezoek vandaag, en ze komt morgen en overmorgen terug. Gezellige drukte dus.

Gossamer Blue & My Mind’s Eye Guest Designer Contest

A few weeks back I saw this. And I thought: ‘well yes, of course I want to be a guest designer for these two amazing companies’. Who wouldn’t want to be.

So here’s my layout to enter the contest. Obviously I had summer on my mind. This picture of Nora was taken last summer when playing outside. There wasn’t really a special occasion or story to tell about that day, but look how she shines. I really wanted to capture that happiness in my layout.

I turned to the My Mind’s Eye ‘Honey’ papers (from the Sweetest Thing collections) to bring color to my layout. The warm pinks and yellows scream summer and they made my picture stand out very well.

First of all I altered some chipboard Thickers to match the colors of my layout. I covered them with some tacky glue, added pink glitter, and finished them off with a thin layer of Glossy Accents to prevent that the glitter would rub off. The rest of my title is die-cutted with letter dies from Papertrey Ink.

Underneath my picture I adhered some strings of the Color Magic Banners by Heidi Swapp. They’re part of a beautiful collection of mistable papers and embellishments, so awesome to play with. Unfortunatly I was only able to get my hands on some of these banners. I colored these with different colors of spray mists and even added some distress inks on top.

This ‘contagious laugh’ sticker is from Dear Lizzy’s Neapolitan collection. The small puffy hearts have been in my stash since forever. I bought them when I first started scrapbooking in a local discount store, and they still last. The polaroids are trimmed out from a Follow Your Heart ‘Be Happy’ paper, also by My Mind’s Eye.

Free 2013 Calendar Printables | Wall Calendar Inspiration

Thank you very much for all your enthousiastic reactions to my free 2013 calendar printables. I’ve seen quite a few cute and gorgeous calendars in progress already. Don’t hesitate to share yours in the comment section. I would love to see. * Eerst en vooral hartelijk bedankt voor jullie enthousiaste reacties op mijn gratis te printen kalender voor 2013. Today I’d like to share some inspiration for my wall calendar. This one is off course more straight forward than yesterdays’ format. Just print, cut to size (15cm or 6″), and embellish. I usually don’t bind this type of wall calendars, but just make a little whole on top of every page to hang it on a pin or nail. * Vandaag wil ik jullie graag wat inspiratie tonen voor de wandkalender. Deze is natuurlijk eenvoudiger te maken dan die van gisteren. Gewoon printen, op maat snijden (15cm), en versieren. Heel vaak bind ik dit type kalenders niet, maar maak ik enkele een gaatje bovenaan elke pagina om hem op te hangen aan een haakje of nagel in de muur.

Sending Christmas Joy and Cheer

I dove into last year’s holiday collections for this one. I’m rather proud to be able to say, that I barely bought any new supplies for my holiday crafting this year (of course I got the Aspen frost collection by BasicGrey and I ordered a My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright 6×6 paper pad for my workshops), and still I made more projects than ever before. And I love them, just like this one here. * Ik dook in de kerstcollecties van vorig jaar voor deze. Ik kan met enige trots zeggen dat ik nauwelijks nieuwe spullen kocht voor de feestdagen dit jaar (ik heb natuurlijk de Aspen Frost collectie van BasicGrey, en ik bestelde een My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright paper pad voor mijn workshops), en ik maakte een pak meer projecten dan vorig jaar. En ik vind de meeste wel geslaagd, zoals deze hier.

Papers and the chipboard house are from Crate Paper’s Peppermint collection. I’ve used quite a bit of that collection last year as well, and just can’t get enough of it. I added some glitter to the snow for some extra interest. The sentiment is from Papertrey and is stamped onto a folded banner from a SimonSaysStamp die. * Papier en het huisje zijn van Crate Paper’s Peppermint collectie. Ik gebruikte vorig jaar al redelijk veel van die collectie, en ik kan er maar geen genoeg van krijgen. Ik bracht wat glitter aan op de sneeuw om de kaart een extra accent te geven. De wens is van Papertrey en is gestempeld op een gevouwen banner (gemaakt met een stans van SimonSaysStamp).

Happy November!! With the risk of endlessly repeating myself: What?? November?? Without further ado, this month’s calendar page. * Fijne november!! Met het risico in herhaling te vallen: Wat?? November?? Zonder verder uitstel, de kalenderpagina van deze maand.

This is becoming a last minute project month after month. The first of the month always creeps up on me without any warning – lol. I used a lot of stamps on this page. Mostly from Kelly Purkey’s Autumn set. * Maand na maand wordt dit een last-minute projectje. De eerste van de maand besluipt me altijd zonder waarschuwing – lol. Ik gebruikte heel wat stempels voor deze pagina, bijna allemaal van Kelly Purkey’s Autumn set.

I wish I had some brads or some of those amazing looking enamel dots (those are definitely on my wishlist) in that bright green. But I don’t, so I tried to make a few green accents myself, by stamping green dots and adding a blob of Glossy Accents to them. * Ik wou dat ik enkele brads of van die mooi ogende enamel dots (die staan hoog op mijn verlanglijstje) had in dat felle groen. Maar die heb ik niet, dus probeerde ik zelf enkele groene accenten te maken met kleine cirkel stempeltjes met daarop een dotje Glossy Accents.

Once Upon a Christmas Time Blog Hop

I went a little holly crazy this weekend. I had so much fun with these Holly Berry Lovers images. I have to admit, I usually am not the coloring kind of person. But these were great, almost therapeutic to do.

All of these images are colored with Glimmer Mist. I just used a water brush and painted in the leaves and berries. So sad the shimmer isn’t visible on these pictures. It is gorgeous. For this first card I trimmed out the holly branch and put it on dimensional adhesive onto my card. I wasn’t brave enough to trim away the white space inside the image however – lol.

I glittered up a Pinking Circle with some fine red glitter and added a circle with the holly leaves on top.

And last, but not least I made a few very simple gift tags.

I have quite a few more of these images sitting on my desk, and the ideas just kept coming. So I’ll probably get back to work with them when I get a chance. I absolutely loved working with them. Thank you very much, Just Inklined, for this chance to play with your amazing new images!!

Maptastic rejects

One of the themes for last month’s publication call by Paper Crafts Magazine was Maptastic, create something with a map involved. I’m proud to say that I have a mini-album cover selected for this feature. These two cards however were not picked for publication, but I love them a lot nonetheless. * Eén van de thema’s van de voorbije maand van Paper Crafts Magazine publication call was Maptastic, creëer iets met een kaart. Ik ben blij te kunnen zeggen dat ik een cover van een mini-album heb, die geselecteerd werd voor publicatie. Deze twee kaarten werden echter niet uitgekozen, maar ik vind ze zelf toch wel leuk.

For this card, I first made some paint splashes onto the background. Then I stamped the swirls and added the butterflies. Finally I stamped the sentiments. * Voor deze kaart bracht ik eerst verfspatten aan op de achtergrond. Daarna stempelde ik de krullen en voegde de vlinders toe. Tenslotte stempelde ik de wensen.

Both cards were made with an old roadmap. No patterned paper here, just pieces of a map. If you look closely you might see it’s a map from Belgium and the Netherlands. * Beide kaarten werden gemaakt met een oude wegenkaart. Ik gebruikte hier geen dessinpapier, enkel stukken van een kaart. Als je een beetje beter kijkt, zie je misschien dat het een kaart van België en Nederland is.

For this second card I stitched a panel of the map onto the card front, but punched out a butterfly in the lower left corner first. The butterlfy then got adhered back to its spot, but just by its body. The wings were popped up, like it’s ready to take off and flutter away. * Voor de tweede kaart stikte ik een paneel van de wegenkaart op mijn witte kaart, maar ponste eerst een vlinder uit in de rechter benedenhoek. De vlinder kleefde ik dan nadien met zijn lijfje weer terug op zijn plaats. De vleugels springen uit, net alsof hij zo kan opstijgen om weg te fladderen.

This card was pretty difficult to photograph in a way that the butterfly showed up well. But I promise you, in real life it doesn’t miss its effect. * Deze kaart was niet zo eenvoudig te fotograferen op de vlinder goed in beeld te brengen. Maar ik beloof jullie dat hij in het echt zijn effect niet mist.

You don’t always need patterned papers and lots of embellishments to make a card. * Je hebt niet altijd dessinpapier en veel ander scrapspulletjes nodig om een kaart te maken.

myStamp BOX project day – Happy Birthday

Today is my day on the myStamp BOX blog. I made this layout of Nora’s third birthday, with a stamped background. I wouldn’t normally go for these kind of colors for a layout of Nora, but the blues of her crown and her bib forced me to try something new. * Vandaag is het opnieuw mijn dag op het myStamp BOX blog. Ik maakte deze layout van Nora’s derde verjaardag met een gestempelde achtergrond. Normaal gesproken zou ik niet voor dit soort kleuren gaan voor een layout van Nora, maar het blauw van haar kroon en slabbetje dwong me eens een andere richting uit te gaan.

I used the Friday Night Stencil alphabet set to create the background. I also added some dots to the background, almost like confetti thrown onto the page. These were stamped with some elements from the Cherry Blossoms set. * Ik bracht ook een aantal bolletjes aan op de achtergrond, bijna als confetti die over de pagina werd uitgestrooid. Deze werden gestempeld met elementjes van de Cherry Blossoms set.

Day 18

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas … We had our first snow here this evening. Are having, to be correct. It probably won’t last very long, but we’re enjoying the sights.

Het begint hier nu echt wel kerst te lijken. Vanavond hadden we onze eerste sneeuw. Het sneeuwt nog steeds, om correct te zijn. Het zal waarschijnlijk niet lang duren, maar we genieten er wel van.
