RCC82 – Fun in the Sun

June’s challenge theme over on the Ribbon Carousel blog is Fun in the Sun. A perfect June theme, isn’t it? I pulled out my older Portrait 6×6 paper pad by Crate Paper. I’ve always loved that collection. And added some of the element stickers of that same collection too. Don’t you love pulling out some older items from your stash every now and then? The sentiment is by The Craft’s Meow. * Ik haalde mijn ouder Portrait 6×6 paper pad van Crate Paper uit. Ik vond dit altijd een prachtige collectie. En ik gebruikte ook enkele element stickers van diezelfde collectie. Vinden jullie het ook niet geweldig om af en toe oudere spullen nog eens boven te halen?

RCC81 – Celebrations

This month’s challenge theme over on the Ribbon Carousel blog is Celebrations. Coudln’t be much easier than that, right. All you have to do to enter, is make a projects that fits the team and has a ‘spooled’ item on it. For this birthday card I chose to go with masking tape. * Het challenge thema van deze maand op het blog van Ribbon Carousel is Celebrations. Het kan niet veel eenvoudiger worden dan dat, niet. Het enige wat je moet doen om deel te nemen, is een project creëren, dat past bij het thema en een ‘gespoeld’ item heeft. Voor mijn verjaardagskaart koos ik dit keer voor masking tape.

I had this pen chipboard shape from BasicGrey in my stash, and I thought it would go well with this written sentiment from Penny Black. And so the theme of this card became clear. The background paper and the two tickets are from BasicGrey papers. The inksplatters are made with Studio Calico’s Pinstripe spray ink. * Ik had die chipboard pen van BasicGrey in mijn voorraad, en Ik dacht dat ze misschien wel leuk zou zijn samen met die geschreven wens van Penny Black.En zo werd het thema van deze kaart meteen duidelijk. Het achtergrond papier en de twee ticketjes zijn van BasicGrey papier. De inktspatten zijn gemaakt met Studio Calico’s Pinstripe spray inkt.

Scrap Goodies March 2013 Video

The last two days, I had a few boxes of scrapbooking supplies showing up on my doorstep. And since I’m such an addict and I always want to see what others got, I made a quick video, sharing some of the items that were in those boxes. Enjoy!

I Love You

For today’s Valentine Inspiration I have a sweet and glittery ‘I Love You’ card to share. I dove into Crate Paper’s Fourteen paper pad and let the pink rule. * Voor de Valentijn Inspiratie van vandaag heb ik een lieve glitterende ‘I Love You’ kaart voor jullie. Ik dook in mijn Fourteen paper pad van Crate Paper en liet het roze zijn werk doen.

The small polaroid frame is from a ‘Follow Your Heart’ paper by My Mind’s Eye. I trimmed it out and also trimmed away the inside, so I had a frame to make my glittered heart stand out. The sentiment is from Ali Edwards’ Sweet Baby set. I love that sentiment, didn’t I tell you the other day – lol. * Het kleine polaroid frame is van een ‘Follow Your Heart’ papier van My Mind’s Eye. Ik knipte het uit en knipte ook de binnenkant weg, zodat ik een frame had om mijn glitterhart goed tot zijn recht te laten komen. De wens is van de Sweet Baby set van Ali Edwards. Ik vind het een prachtige wens, had ik dat al gezegd – lol.

Happy Birthday | myStamp BOX Card

I made this myStamp BOX birthday card back in December, but didn’t come to sharing it here on the blog yet. I was in the middle of my Christmas series back then, and although the card is made with holiday papers by Crate Paper, I decided to keep it for after the holidays. And so I’d like to share today. * Ik maakte deze myStamp BOX verjaardagskaart in december, maar kwam er nog niet toe om ze hier op mijn blog te tonen. Hoewel de kaart met kerstpapieren is gemaakt, vond ik ze niet passen in mijn kerstserie, en dus besloot ik ze te houden tot na de feestdagen. En hier is ze dan eindelijk.

I stamped the flower petal by petal with one of the stamps from the Ornamental Flowers set. It has 3 layers, each of which I wrinkled up after trimming it out to give some extra dimension. The sentiment is from the Whatever set. * Ik stempelde de bloem blaadje voor blaadje met een stempel van de Ornamental Flowers set. Ze heeft 3 lagen, die elk verkreukeld werden na het uitknippen om extra dimensie te geven. De wens is van de Whatever set.

As I mentioned before, all the papers are from Crate Paper’s Peppermint collection, which obviously can be used for other occasions too. And since this card was made for a December birthday, I don’t think it’s a problem to use holiday papers. * Zoals ik voordien al vermelde, zijn alle papieren van Crate Papers Peppermint collectie, die dus duidelijk ook voor andere gelegenheden kan gebruikt worden. En aangezien deze kaart voor een december verjaardag werd gemaakt, vond ik het zeker geen probleem om kerstpapier te gebruiken.

Wonderland

A few weeks back I took the kids to a local garden center, which happens to have a whole village of these holiday houses on display. The kids just loved looking at everything going on in that fantasy world. We’ve been back numerous times to  just gaze and enjoy. * Enkele weken geleden nam ik de kinderen mee naar een plaatselijk tuincentrum, waar er toevallig een heel dorp van deze kersthuisjes uitgestald stond. Nora en Tuur genoten heel erg om naar deze fantasiewereld te kunnen kijken. We zijn sindsdien al verschillende keren terug geweest, gewoon om te staren en te genieten.

I thought the warm colors of the pictures would look good on some paler, ‘colder’ wintercolors. It makes them stand out. Here’s a video for you, if you care to see my process on this layout. Enjoy!! * Ik dacht dat de warme kleuren van de foto’s goed zouden uitkomen op blekere, ‘koudere’, winterse kleuren. Ze komen goed naar voren. Sending Christmas Joy and Cheer

I dove into last year’s holiday collections for this one. I’m rather proud to be able to say, that I barely bought any new supplies for my holiday crafting this year (of course I got the Aspen frost collection by BasicGrey and I ordered a My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright 6×6 paper pad for my workshops), and still I made more projects than ever before. And I love them, just like this one here. * Ik dook in de kerstcollecties van vorig jaar voor deze. Ik kan met enige trots zeggen dat ik nauwelijks nieuwe spullen kocht voor de feestdagen dit jaar (ik heb natuurlijk de Aspen Frost collectie van BasicGrey, en ik bestelde een My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright paper pad voor mijn workshops), en ik maakte een pak meer projecten dan vorig jaar. En ik vind de meeste wel geslaagd, zoals deze hier.

Papers and the chipboard house are from Crate Paper’s Peppermint collection. I’ve used quite a bit of that collection last year as well, and just can’t get enough of it. I added some glitter to the snow for some extra interest. The sentiment is from Papertrey and is stamped onto a folded banner from a SimonSaysStamp die. * Papier en het huisje zijn van Crate Paper’s Peppermint collectie. Ik gebruikte vorig jaar al redelijk veel van die collectie, en ik kan er maar geen genoeg van krijgen. Ik bracht wat glitter aan op de sneeuw om de kaart een extra accent te geven. De wens is van Papertrey en is gestempeld op een gevouwen banner (gemaakt met een stans van SimonSaysStamp).

Moved & The expanding wishlist

In the meantime, have you been sneak-hunting the last week? This is always a fun time and I have to admit that I have seen quite some gorgeous things from different manufacturers. Too much for my wallet, I’m afraid. Too much to use in just 6 months as well – lol. Here are some of my favorites so far: * Laat ons het ondertussen een keertje over CHA hebben. Zijn jullie op zoek naar sneaks gegaan de voorbije week? Dit is altijd zo’n leuke tijd en ik moet toegeven dat ik al redelijk wat prachtige dingen gezien heb bij verschillende producenten. Te veel voor mijn portemonnee, moet ik toegeven. Teveel om in 6 maanden allemaal te kunnen gebruiken ook – lol. Hier zijn enkele van mijn favorieten tot nu toe:

Basic Grey is really doing it for me this season. I’m very excited about all 4 of the new collections.  Aspen Frost, Soleil, Serenade, & Lucille are one by one stunning collections with fabulous colors and design elements. And Basic Grey is reviving the Micro Mono Alphabet Stickers. I’m stoked. * Basic Grey heeft het allemaal komend seizoen. Ik ben heel erg enthousiast over alle 4 de nieuwe collecties. Aspen Frost, Soleil, Serenade, & Lucille zijn één voor één prachtige collecties met prachtige kleuren en design elementen. And Basic Grey brengt de Micro Mono Alphabet Stickers weer tot leven. Vind ik fantastisch.

I’ve seen some fabulous new collections from Crate Paper as well. Especially the On Trend & Acorn Avenue collection have caught my eye. Crate always has this stunning vintage feel and the most delicious embellishments. * Ik heb ook bij Crate Paper enkele mooie nieuwe collecties gezien. Vooral de Trend & Acorn Avenue zijn voor mij in het oog gesprongen. Crate heeft altijd dat fantastische vintage gevoel en prachtige embellishments.

One of the other things on my wishlist are the new Color Shine Spritz mists by Heidi Swapp, along with her Color Magic mistable papers, alphas and elements. * Eén van de andere dingen op mijn verlanglijstje zijn die nieuwe Color Shine Spritz mists van Heidi Swapp, samen met haar Color Magic papier, alfa’s en elementen.

And last but not least, Studio Calico’s new stamps are amazing. I will definitely try to get my hands on some of those. * En last but not least, Studio Calico’s nieuwe stempels zijn leuk. Ik probeer zeker en vast er enkele van in handen te krijgen.

These are just a few of my favorite things, next to the new Dear Lizzy collections, Cosmo Crickets awesome flairs, etc. etc. What fun stuff have you spotted?? * Dit zijn slechts enkele van mijn favorieten, naast de nieuwe Dear Lizzy lijn, Cosmo Crickets te gekke flairs, enz. enz.
