RCC82 – Fun in the Sun

June’s challenge theme over on the Ribbon Carousel blog is Fun in the Sun. A perfect June theme, isn’t it? I pulled out my older Portrait 6×6 paper pad by Crate Paper. I’ve always loved that collection. And added some of the element stickers of that same collection too. Don’t you love pulling out some older items from your stash every now and then? The sentiment is by The Craft’s Meow. * Ik haalde mijn ouder Portrait 6×6 paper pad van Crate Paper uit. Ik vond dit altijd een prachtige collectie. En ik gebruikte ook enkele element stickers van diezelfde collectie. Vinden jullie het ook niet geweldig om af en toe oudere spullen nog eens boven te halen?

Dad

I had another post scheduled for this evening, but I last minutely changed it to a post with another card. We celebrated Father’s Day past Sunday, but I believe in many areas it is still to come this Sunday. So, since this card got just rejected for a PaperCrafts publication call, I thought I’d quickly share it here with you. Perhaps you can find some inspiration in it if you still need to whip some card up for that superman in your life. * Ik had een andere blogpost gepland voor deze avond, maar ik veranderde op het laatste moment nog van gedacht en besliste opnieuw een kaart te tonen. Wij vierden voorbije zondag al vaderdag, maar ik geloof dat het op vele plaatsen pas komende zondag wordt gevierd. Dus, aangezien dit kaartje net afgewezen werd voor een publication call van PaperCraft magazine, dacht ik het toch snel hier met jullie te delen. Misschien kan ik jullie nog inspireren, voor als he nog snel een kaartje moet samen knutselen voor die superman in je leven.

CAS to the bone, isn’t it. But for some reason, I really like how this one turned out. Papers are again from Studio Calico’s Darling Dear 6×6 paper pad (I really need to put it out of my sight, so I can stop using it). The same for that Ali Edwards stamp – lol. The letter stickers are older Amy Tangerine Thickers. * Clean en eenvoudig. Maar om één of andere reden, ben ik heel erg tevreden met het eindresultaat. Het papier is opnieuw van Studio Calico’s Darling Dear 6×6 paper pad (ik moet het dringend eens uit mijn gezichtsveld gaan leggen, zodat ik er kan mee ophouden het te gebruiken). En hetzelfde geldt voor die Ali Edwards stempel – lol. De letter stickers zijn oudere Amy Tangerine Thickers.

I hope you all like it, even though it’s a reject. So, now I’m off to laundry and unpacking again. We just got home from our holiday this afternoon and the first loads of laundry are going in the washer. At least I know what I’ll be doing this weekend – lol. Have a great one! * Ik hoop dat jullie het toch wel wat vonden, ook al was het een ‘reject’. Nu snel weer naar mijn was en uitpakken. We zijn sinds deze namiddag thuis van reis en de eerste ladingen was gaan al in de machine. Ik weet in ieder geval wat ik dit weekend zal gaan doen – lol. Prettig weekend!

You & Me

I had a bit of fun with some of my favorite supplies again. I pulled out my Darling Dear 6×6 paper pad from Studio Calico again, some wood veneers, and the Sweet Baby stamp set by Ali Edwards. Almost always a winner. * Ik haalde nog een keer enkele van mijn favoriete spullen boven. Mijn Darling Dear 6×6 paper pad van Studio Calico, enkele strooihoutjes, en de Sweet Baby stempelset van Ali Edwards. Bijna altijd een winnaar.

The speech bubbles and small labels from the Studio Calico paper pad are great elements for adding a focal point to your card. By putting them on dimensional adhesive I added dimension to the card. * De tekstballonetjes en de kleine labels van het papierblok van Studio Calico zijn heel leuke elementjes om een focus aan je kaar toe te voegen. Door hen op 3D tape te zetten gaf ik de kaart meer dimensie.

Custom Stamp

Last week, this little bag was delivered at my doorstep. A tiny bit of happy mail. Earlier that week I had ordered myself a stamp. Almost all sentiment stamps I own are English. But since I’m Belgian, these sentiments are not always suitable for all recipients. And since it isn’t always easy to find Dutch sentiment stamps in a style that I like, I decided to design one myself. * Vorige week werd dit fijne zakje hier afgeleverd. Een klein pakje fijne post. Eerder die week had ik mezelf een stempel besteld. Bijna alle wensstempels, die ik heb, zijn Engels. Maar aangezien ik Belgische ben, zijn die niet altijd geschikt voor alle ontvangers. En aangezien het niet eenvoudig is om Nederlandstalige stempels te vinden in een leuke stijl, besloot ik er zelf eentje te ontwerpen.

I searched for a font that I really liked, and created a Dutch sentiment stamp in a fun modern style. I chose to go for ‘congratulations’, not earth shaking I know, but this is a versatile sentiment that works for so many occasions. Wood mounted rubber stamps are not cheap, so I wanted to get the most out of my money. * Ik ging op zoek naar een lettertype dat ik leuk vond, en creëerde een Nederlandse wensstempel in een mooie moderne stijl. Ik koos voor een zeer algemene wens, niet wereldschokkend ik weet het, maar deze past voor heel veel gelegenheden. Rubber stempels op hout zijn niet goedkoop, en dus wilde ik zoveel mogelijk waarde voor mijn geld.

I’m very happy with how this turned out. I can’t wait to whip up some cards with this beauty. Stick around to see it in action. * Ik ben heel blij met het eindresultaat. Ik kan al niet meer wachten om enkele kaarten in elkaar te knutselen met dit schatje. Blijf in de buurt om hem in actie te zien.

Take A Break

I’m sharing a card today, that I made quite a while back for a publication call. I didn’t get picked up back then, but I wanted to show you guys. I’m hoping that by showing sunny summer projects here on my blog, that I will be able to lure to sun out. You never know. * Een kaart vandaag, die ik een tijd geleden maakte voor een publication call. Ze werd toen niet uitgekozen, maar ik wilde ze jullie wel tonen. Ik hoop eigenlijk door zonnige zomerse kaarten te tonen, dat ik daar de zon kan mee lokken. Wie weet.

I think everything on this card is from BasicGrey’s Soleil collection, except for the stamp at the bottom. That’s one from myStamp BOX’ Road trip set. * Ik denk dat alle elementen op deze kaart van BasicGrey’s Soleil collection zijn, behalve de stempel onderaan. Die is van de Road Trip set van myStamp BOX.

RCC81 – Celebrations

This month’s challenge theme over on the Ribbon Carousel blog is Celebrations. Coudln’t be much easier than that, right. All you have to do to enter, is make a projects that fits the team and has a ‘spooled’ item on it. For this birthday card I chose to go with masking tape. * Het challenge thema van deze maand op het blog van Ribbon Carousel is Celebrations. Het kan niet veel eenvoudiger worden dan dat, niet. Het enige wat je moet doen om deel te nemen, is een project creëren, dat past bij het thema en een ‘gespoeld’ item heeft. Voor mijn verjaardagskaart koos ik dit keer voor masking tape.

I had this pen chipboard shape from BasicGrey in my stash, and I thought it would go well with this written sentiment from Penny Black. And so the theme of this card became clear. The background paper and the two tickets are from BasicGrey papers. The inksplatters are made with Studio Calico’s Pinstripe spray ink. * Ik had die chipboard pen van BasicGrey in mijn voorraad, en Ik dacht dat ze misschien wel leuk zou zijn samen met die geschreven wens van Penny Black.En zo werd het thema van deze kaart meteen duidelijk. Het achtergrond papier en de twee ticketjes zijn van BasicGrey papier. De inktspatten zijn gemaakt met Studio Calico’s Pinstripe spray inkt.

Free Shipping for National Scrapbooking Day

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!! Here in Belgium the day doesn’t get celebrated, unfortunately. But that doesn’t mean I can’t let you all join in on the fun a bit. Bestamped Shop Sales

Spring cleaning is in full swing in our house. The right time to do a bit of spring cleaning online as well. My online shop is first in line. I would like to sell out all physical items in my shop and so I’m having a huge sale. Everything has got to go. I’m hoping to make room for new cardmaking and scrapbooking kits in the future. Go and check it out!!

De voorjaars-grote schoonmaak is in volle gang hier in ons huis. Het perfecte moment om ook online een beetje grote schoonmaak te houden. Mijn online winkeltje is eerste in de rij. Ik wil graag alle kaart- en scrapbooking kits uitverkopen en dus zijn er heuse kortingen. Alles moet weg. Ik hoop op die manier plaats te maken voor nieuwe kits in de toekomst. Ga zeker eens een kijkje nemen!! Als je in de buurt woont, en je kit graag wil afhalen, dan kan dat ook, laat maar iets weten.

RCC80 – Showers & Flowers

This months challenge theme over on the Ribbon Carousel blog is Showers & Flowers, perfect for April. It’s a pretty versatile theme. For my card I mixed some old with new. I used papers from the Promise Me 6×6 paper pad by SEI. A beautiful soft colored collection, with really fabulous designs. The floral background is one of my favorites from this paper pad. * Het challenge thema van deze maand of het blog van Ribbon Carousel is Showers & Flowers, perfect voor april. Het is een thema met zeer veel mogelijkheden. Voor mijn kaart mixte is oud en nieuw. Ik gebruikte papier van het Promise Me 6×6 paper pad van SEI. Een mooie zacht gekleurde collectie, met prachtige designs. De gebloemde achtergrond is één van mijn favorieten van dit papierblok.

I used a cameo from Maya Road, to the lady I added some white acrylic paint and Liquid Pearls for shimmer. The smaller oval is covered with patterned paper, the gold oval shape is also from this same collection by SEI. I thought it matched the atmosphere of the card perfectly. * Ik gebruikte een cameo van Maya Road, de dame schilderde ik eerst wit met acrylverf, en dan bracht ik een laagje Liquid Pearls aan voor een beetje glans. De kleinere ovaal is bekleed met dessinpapier, de gouden ovaal is van ook van dezelfde collectie van SEI. Ik vond dat dit perfect pastte bij de sfeer van deze kaart.

To finish up the card I tied some vintage seam binding around it, and added one of those paper flowers from Prima that were still in my stash from a long time ago. I love it when I can use one of those older items, and it still looks good. Do you still have some of these hanging around in your supplies? * Om de kaart af te werken strikte ik er vintage seam binding rond, en kleefde nog één van die papieren bloemetjes van Prima van jaren geleden vast. Ik vind het altijd heel erg fijn als ik zo’n ouder item kan gebruiken, en het er goed kan doen uitzien. Hebben jullie er zo nog rondhangen tussen jullie spullen?
