Once Upon a Christmas Time Blog Hop

I went a little holly crazy this weekend. I had so much fun with these Holly Berry Lovers images. I have to admit, I usually am not the coloring kind of person. But these were great, almost therapeutic to do.

All of these images are colored with Glimmer Mist. I just used a water brush and painted in the leaves and berries. So sad the shimmer isn’t visible on these pictures. It is gorgeous. For this first card I trimmed out the holly branch and put it on dimensional adhesive onto my card. I wasn’t brave enough to trim away the white space inside the image however – lol.

I glittered up a Pinking Circle with some fine red glitter and added a circle with the holly leaves on top.

And last, but not least I made a few very simple gift tags.

I have quite a few more of these images sitting on my desk, and the ideas just kept coming. So I’ll probably get back to work with them when I get a chance. I absolutely loved working with them. Thank you very much, Just Inklined, for this chance to play with your amazing new images!!

Ribbon Carousel & Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop

For today’s hop I used this adorable stamp from the Balloon Boy Bugaboo set. I stamped the little fellow onto some Sticky Back Canvas with Fired Brick Distress Ink. This stamp set has some amazing sentiments as well.

The red and ivory jute/burlap twine from the Ribbon Carousel store is tied up in a bow underneath the sentiment strip. Patterned papers are from the What’s Up collection from BasicGrey, which matched the stamps really well.

Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial | Using Ribbon and Twine along with Die-Cuts

To be honest, this makes me happy, working with all this ribbon and twine. I absolutely adore how the dimensional heart with the yellow baker’s twine turned out. It made me realize that I love ribbon and twine even more than I thought. * Dit maakt me blij, om eerlijk te zijn, werken met lint en touw. Ik ben zo tevreden met hoe dit hart is uitgedraaid. Het deed me beseffen dat ik eigenlijk nog meer van lint en touw hou dan ik dacht. 

Before Corinna asked me to be part of the tutorial design team, it had been a while since I used ribbon. I often couldn’t find ribbon to match my projects and had given up on searching for it. I had never bought baker’s twine myself and used bits and pieces send to me by friends. Now, after finishing up my 3 tutorials for this DT term, I’m more excited about it then ever. Even though I feel like a newbie, who could learn a lot from some ribbon pro’s rather than be setting up tutorials myself – lol. * Voordat Corinna me vroeg om deel uit te maken van het tutorial design team, was het al een tijd geleden dat ik nog lint had gebruikt. Vaak kon ik niet het lint vinden dat bij mijn projecten paste en ik had het een beetje opgegeven om ernaar te zoeken. Ik had nog nooit baker’s twine gekocht, maar gebruikte stukjes en beetjes, die me werden toegestuurd door blogvriendinnen. Nu, na het afwerken van mijn 3 tutorials voor de huidige DT termijn, ben ik meer enthousiast dan ooit. Hoewel ik me eerder als een nieuweling voel, die nog veel kan leren van de lintprofessionals, eerder dan dat ik zelf al tutorials moet maken – lol.

Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial | Using ribbon & twine on a layout.

I’m so thrilled to share my very first Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial with you today. * Ik ben blij dat ik vandaag mijn eerste Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial met jullie kan delen. 

Those of you that have been following me a while now, know I am becoming a passionate scrapbooker. So I wanted to show some of the possible ways to use ribbon and twine on a layout in my tutorial. This happens to be my very first video. I’m so happy to finally be able to show you guys. I hope you enjoy it. * Als jullie mij al een tijdje volgen, weten jullie dat ik meer en meer gepassioneerd raak door scrapbooken. Dus wilde ik hier enkele manieren tonen om lint en touw op een layout te gebruiken. Dit is mijn allereerste video. Ik ben blij hem eindelijk te kunnen tonen. Ik hoop dat het jullie bevalt.

Of course, these are just a few of the many possible ways to include soft materials to your pages. Basically I replaced patterned papers with ribbon for a lot of items on my page: for strips of paper underneath the picture, for building the banner, for adding touches of color to the page.  It is fun to sometimes take a break from patterned papers and challenge yourself to use ribbon and twine instead. I hope you got inspired to turn to ribbon for a layout as well. Next month I’ll be back with a new spotlight tutorial. * Natuurlijk zijn dit slechts enkele van de mogelijke manieren om zachte materialen op jullie fotopagina’s te gebruiken. Eigenlijk verving ik, voor heel wat items op mijn layout, dessinpapier door lint: voor de stroken onder de foto, om de vlaggenlijn op te bouwen, om kleurtoetsen aan te brengen op de pagina. Het is leuk om soms het dessinpapier eens een keertje opzij te laten liggen en jezelf uit te dagen om lint en touw te gebruiken. Ik hoop dat jullie geïnspireerd werden om zelf eens lint te gaan gebruiken voor een layout. Volgende maand breng ik een nieuwe spotlight tutorial.

At my doorstep … & a preview

Look what arrived at my doorstep yesterday. Card inspiration heaven. I had been waiting for it for quite some days now, stalking the mail man. Did you know I have two cards in there (pages 24 and 150). Find them between all of the other fabulous and inspiring pieces. 

Kijk wat ik gisteren in mijn brievenbus vond. Ik was er al enkele dagen op aan het wachten, mijn postbode stalkend. Ik heb opnieuw twee kaarten in dit nummer (pagina’s 24 en 150). Vind ze tussen alle andere prachtige en inspirerende stukken.

Tomorrow will be an exciting day here on the blog, as my first video will go live bright and early. It’s my first appearance on the Ribbon Carousel blog with a tutorial on different possibilities to use ribbon and twine on a layout. Here’s a little preview.

Morgen wordt een spannende dag hier op mijn blog. Mijn allereerste video gaat namelijk op antenne. Het is mijn eerste opdracht voor de Ribbon Carousel blog met een tutorial over verschillende manieren om lint en touw op een layout te gebruiken. Hier is al een klein voorproefje.

Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial Crew

I’m happy to be able to finally announce to you today, that I am now a part of the Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial Team. I was so honored a few weeks back when Corinna send me an e-mail to invite me to the team. And of course I was pretty eager to say ‘yes’ to her. * Ik ben blij hier eindelijk te mogen aankondigen dat ik nu deel uitmaak van het Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial Team. Ik voelde me toch wel vereerd toen Corinna me enkele weken geleden een e-mail stuurde om me uit te nodigen. En natuurlijk moest ik  er niet lang over nadenken en heb ik ‘ja’ gezegd.

For the next three months, my fellow design team members and I will be sharing some fun tutorials with all kinds of ribbon,  baker’s twine, etc. every thursday. * De volgende drie maanden zullen mijn collega design team leden en ikzelf, steeds op donderdag, leuke tutorials met allerlei soorten lint, baker’s twine, enz. aan jullie voorstellen.
